About the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park
We are a private, non-profit (501[c]3) member-supported organization working cooperatively with the Division of Parks and Recreation and staff of Cape Henlopen State Park.
FOCHSP is governed by a board of directors elected by the members and officers elected by the board.
Members are encouraged to participate at a level that they find comfortable and are welcome to suggest new activities the group might pursue on behalf of the park.
FOCHSP fund raising events include:

* Used Book Fairs
* Chocolate Tastings
* Wine, Cheese & Beer Tastings
* Flea Markets
* Fishing tournaments
These events support CHSP activities such as:
* Borrow-A-Bike Program
* Monthly Trails Day
* Richard & Mirth Thatcher Education Fund
* Playground Program
* Park Beautification
* Osprey Camera
About Cape Henlopen State Park
Cape Henlopen State Park encompasses over 7,000 acres of beach, dune, forest, and wetland at the mouth of the Delaware Bay(see Map).
The park's natural assets include:
* Four miles of ocean and two miles of bay beach
* The only stand of Pitch Pine on the Delmarva Peninsula
* The only population of nesting Piping Plovers in Delaware
Cape Henlopen State Park offers many unique seaside recreational facilities including:
* Educational programs
* Nearly 20 miles of trails
* A quarter mile fishing pier
* Guarded swimming beaches
* Camping facilities
* An 18 - basket disc golf course
